Integration of the International Expert Group on the Preservation of the Earth System (IESP) in the Institute of Advanced Studies on Sustainability (Advances)     

General Agreement

1. The members of the Institute of Advanced Studies on Sustainability (Advances), and the members of the International Expert Group on Earth System Preservation (IESP) agree to join forces.
   
2. Advances as a legal entity according to German Law, and registered as a non-profit organization (gemeinnuetziger, eingetragener Verein) will treat “IESP” as a Section of “Advances”, and provide administrative service.
   
3. The logo of IESP will be shown on the letterhead or any other document concerning IESP. Likewise, the logo of Advances will be shown on any Advances related documents.
   
4. It is assumed that the members of IESP will agree with the statutes of Advances.
   
5. A separate cost unit will be implemented in the accounting list of Advances to keep transparent income and expenditures of IESP. No cross-financing is considered.
   
6. Expenditures needed to execute IESP´s activities (organization and conduct of reflection group meeting, travel costs, clerical costs etc.) will be financed based on donations given by either members or third parties, or by any other sources.
   
7. IESP will be administered by a Board of Directors. Members of the Board are appointed to set the policies of IESP. Under the doctrine of collective responsibility, the entire Board is liable for financial and other consequences of the IESP´s activities.
   
8. The chairman and the vice-chairman of Advances shall be members of the Board.
   
9. The Board of Directors will appoint an Executive Director who is responsible for managing the operating funds so that the budget is not exceeded, and ensuring that any projects are operating according to the charity statues of Advances.
   
10. The Executive Director together with the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman and the Treasurer of Advances will have the exclusive right to access the joint bank account of Advances and IESP.
