The current water crisis is emerging as one of the most serious natural resource issues facing the world. This crisis doesn’t just include matters regarding clean and sufficient drinking water, but matters regarding sanitation, droughts and floods as well.
As a response to this crisis the European Water Partnership (EWP) has been established in early 2006. The EWP is an independent non-profit organization, set up jointly by 16 European organisations, which helps to develop solutions to urgent water challenges in Europe and the rest of the world. It harnesses European capacity, helps to coordinate initiatives and activities in international water issues and undertakes worldwide promotion of European expertise related to water. The EWP aims to become a focal point for the exchange of information related to activities and services of government bodies, knowledge and research institutes and businesses involved in the water sector.
