1. The legal name of the Association is “Verein zur Förderung weitergehender Studien zur Nachhaltigkeit e. V.“ (association to promote advanced studies on sustainability).
The Association through its activities supports the aims of the “Institute of Advanced Studies on Sustainability” of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
2. Legal seat of the Association is Munich, Germany. The Association is registered under number VR 17886 in the registry of associations of the District Court Munich.
The statutes were resolved on 11 September, 2002. They were amended on 30 December 2002.
3. The fiscal year is the calendar year. Within three month past the calendar year the Executive Committee presents a statement of accounts and as part of this an overview of assets, proceeds and surplus.
4. Natural as well as legal persons willing to support the material and non-material aims of the Association are eligible to become members.
The President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts is ex officio a member of the Association.
5. Legal bodies of the Association are the Assembly of Members, the Executive Committee and the Board of Advise.
6. The Assembly of Members should meet every second year, at least. Within eight weeks an extraordinary meeting is to be summoned when requested by the Executive Committee or by one third of the members while presenting a proposal for an agenda.
The Assembly of Members has the right
- to elect the chairman and the co-chairman of the Executive Committee
- to appoint the members of the Board of Advise
- to elect two cash auditors
- to release the Executive Committee from legal responsibilities after presentation of the statement of accounts.
7. The Executive Committee consists of the chairman, the vice-chairman, the treasurer responsible for the organization and supervision of the accounting, and the President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. The chairman of the Board of Advise attends the meetings as an advisor.
The members of the Executive Committee, with the exception of the President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, are elected by the Assembly of Members. Term of office is two years.
Each of the members of the Executive Committee represents the Association autonomously.
8. The Board of Advise consists of at least four individuals active in the sectors Science, Economy and Politics, respectively.
The members of the Board of Advise are appointed by the Assembly of Members. Term of office is four years.
9. The Association receives financial supports by contributions from third parties or trough membership fees
10. The Association is registered under number 9143/000845318166 at the Tax Office for Corporations in Munich, Germany.
11. The Association is exclusively and directly non-profit oriented (promotion of science and research).
