In memory of Lynn Margulis

On November 22, 2011, Prof. Lynn Margulis died at the age of 73. Lynn was an outstanding scientists best known for her work on the theory of endosymbiosis, and for her eminent contributions to the scientific basis of the Gaia-theory which opend the door to a novel understanding of ecosystems and their role in the preservation of life on Earth. We are grateful for the knowledge she has provided us.
